One person is dead and another is in serious condition following a multi-vehicle, wrong-way crash in Ajax on Wednesday afternoon. Police say at approximately 1 p.m., the driver of a Honda HRV was travelling eastbound on Kingston Road West near Elizabeth Street when they crossed into the westbound lanes and struck a Dodge Journey. The Dodge journey was subsequently struck by a Mazda Protege, which was also travelling westbound on Kingston Road. The 78-year-old female driver of the Honda HRV was transported to hospital where she was pronounced dead, police said. The driver of the Dodge Journey remains at a Toronto-area trauma centre with serious injuries. The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.
