Middlesex OPP are investigating a home invasion that left one person with minor injuries and led to the theft of a vehicle. Police say officers were called to Rebecca Road in Thames Centre at about 7:34 a.m. on Wednesday after receiving a report of a vehicle fire. Investigators determined the burned vehicle belonged to a nearby resident. Officers then attended the registered owner’s home on Nissouri Road, where they found the homeowner suffering from injuries. According to police, several unidentified suspects had forced their way into the residence and confronted the lone occupant. The homeowner sustained minor injuries during an altercation with the suspects. Police allege the suspects then stole the homeowner’s vehicle and fled the area. No suspect descriptions have been released. The investigation remains ongoing. OPP say additional information will be released as it becomes available.
