EMF Market Mall hosts vendors after Centennial Market closure

WATCH: Filling the gap left by the Centennial Mall, EMF Market Mall is providing a home for local vendors without a home in Regina.

Close to 40 vendors from Regina and its surrounding area have set up shop at the EMF Market Mall.

Located at 1217 Broad Street, the store features a variety of venues – selling everything from home décor to wedding dresses to comic books and board games.

“I thought it was a great idea to have a place for the home, local vendors to maybe come out and show off their products, socialize, and make some sales,” expressed Maria Fiorante, owner of EMF Market Mall.

Last April, Regina’s Centennial Market was forced to close after an inspection revealed the more-than-century building was not up to code.

It served as a hot spot for vendors in the community allowing small businesses to market their wares and network with customers.

“I think it’s very important [to support local vendors] because from my experience, for the few months that I’ve been opened, we’ve had so many different people who are so talented with all sorts of different things,” Fiorante said.

“I think it’s good to let people know that they are here.”

The store has been open since last March and plans to include more vendors in the nearby future.

The market is open from Thursday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Sunday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
