Winnipeg teen killed in crash near Kenora

Ontario Provincial Police said a teenage boy from Winnipeg was killed in a crash west of Kenora on June 2, 2026.

A teenage boy from Winnipeg is dead following a crash west of Kenora.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers and other emergency personnel responded to reports of a crash on Highway 17 near Rush Bay on Tuesday around 1:45 p.m.

Police said a tractor trailer unit and a passenger vehicle collided on the highway.

A 17-year-old male from Winnipeg was pronounced dead at the scene.

A stretch of the highway was closed for several hours while police investigated the crash.
