Mounties are warning the public about the release of a sexual offender who they believe will likely offend a child again. Kyle Soloway, 33, is expected to be living in Red Deer County after being released on May 19. He had been convicted of sexual interference, defined by the Criminal Code as an offence against a person under the age of 16 years old. According to police, Soloway lured young teens to meet using the internet. He also offered rides to young girls. Soloway is prohibited from possessing weapons and being around children under the age of 16. “The Alberta RCMP is issuing this information and warning after careful deliberation and consideration of all related issues, including privacy concerns, in the belief that it is clearly in the public interest to inform the members of the community of Soloway’s release. The RCMP believes that there is a risk of significant harm to the health and safety of the public,” Mounties said in a statement. “The intent of this process is to enable members of the public to take suitable precautionary measures and not to embark on any form of vigilante action.” Soloway’s picture has also been posted to Alberta’s high-risk offenders website.
