South Simcoe police are turning to the public to help identify a driver who allegedly failed to remain at the scene of an incident that left one person with minor injuries. Police say it happened between 3:45 p.m. and 3:55 p.m. on May 27, in the area of County Road 27 and Sideroad 5 in Bradford West Gwillimbury. According to South Simcoe Police, the vehicle, a small dark red SUV, was travelling westbound on 5th Line, in the wrong lane of traffic. Police say a vehicle headed in the other direction spotted the SUV and was forced off the road to avoid a collision. In the process, the other vehicle was significantly damaged and the driver suffered minor injuries. Police allege the driver of the SUV failed to remain and continued driving westbound without stopping. Authorities are asking the driver to contact them immediately.
