A P.E.I. resort is one of only two Canadian properties to land a spot on Oprah Daily’s 2026 Hotel O-wards. The Oprah Daily website shared a list of hotels, resorts and cruises that “serve as the catalyst for personal transformation,” highlighting 58 properties from across six continents. P.E.I.’s Mysa Nordic Spa and Resort – which is located on the north shore of Prince Edward Island in St. Peter’s Bay – made the list alongside the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise in Alberta’s Banff National Park. “Mysa Nordic Spa & Resort brings the Nordic hot-cold rest ritual to a working coastal landscape. The waterfront retreat looks out over St. Peter’s Bay – where mussel boats drift past in summer – and centers on an outdoor thermal circuit with hot pools, cold plunges, a eucalyptus steam bath, and a barrel sauna,” reads the writeup on Oprah Daily. Visitors to the Island’s first Nordic spa can stay in a water-view cottage, enjoy fresh, local ingredients with a meal at the on-site restaurant, and partake in wellness programming that includes Aufguss ceremonies, sound baths, and sunrise yoga. Part of the Murphy Hospitality Group, Mysa Nordic Spa & Resort has previously been listed 30th on a list of the top 100 spas in North America. “Earning an Oprah Daily’s Hotel O-Ward alongside some of the most extraordinary wellness destinations in the world is something our entire team has continually worked towards and it means the world to us,” said Isaac Murphy, owner-operator of Mysa Nordic Spa & Resort, in a news release. “What makes Mysa special isn’t just our thermal circuit or our cottages. It’s the greenhouse, the food, the sustainability, the staff and the community we’ve built here in St. Peter’s Bay. We built something truly unique on this island and to have that recognized on a global stage is such an honour.” According to the release, Mysa Nordic Spa & Resort welcomed more than 23,000 guests in 2025.
