An online report of a theft in North Bay had a happy ending this week when police managed to recover a stolen electric scooter. Police received the theft report July 26 through its crime reporting portal on its website. “We just want it back -- my daughter is devastated,” the father of the girl said in the report. “It’s pink and black,” he added, and attached a photo of the scooter. Happy ending In a happy ending to the story, patrol officers spotted the scooter early in the morning of July 29 and returned it to the family. “I didn’t think it would ever be recovered, and we appreciate it a lot,” the family told police. “(Police) understand how much personal belongings can mean, especially to a child,” North Bay police said on social media. “Our officers work hard every day to recover stolen property, and we’re very proud when we can help reunite people with the things that matter to them.” Residents are encouraged to report non-urgent thefts online, police said.
