Montreal Victorie: Forwards Jade Downie-Landry and Alexandra Labelle are staying with team

The general manager of the Montreal Victoire, Danièle Sauvageau, continued to rebuild her squad on Saturday by signing forwards Jade Downie-Landry and Alexandra Labelle to contracts.

In a press release, the Victoire stated that Downie-Landry had signed a two-year deal, running until the end of the 2027–2028 season, whilst Labelle had signed a contract covering the 2026–2027 season.

These signings took place during Phase 5 of the player allocation process as part of the LPHF expansion, which offers existing teams an exclusive period to renew the contracts of their players whose deals are due to expire ahead of the 2026–2027 season.

Downie-Landry scored two goals in 23 matches during her first season with the Victoire in 2025–2026, following two campaigns with the New York side.

The 30-year-old from Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu also played three matches in the most recent play-offs, which saw the Victoire win their first Walter Cup championship.

In 77 career games in the LPHF, the former McGill University Martlets player has scored 14 goals and added seven assists, whilst boasting a 51 per cent success rate at the face-off circle.

For her part, Labelle recorded four assists in 28 matches with Victoire in 2025–2026, whilst winning 55.2 per cent of her face-offs.

In 71 career matches in the LPHF, the former Université de Montréal Carabins player has scored two goals and recorded nine assists.

The 30-year-old from Saint-Louis-de-Gonzague also played in all nine of Victoire’s play-off matches this spring, maintaining a 58.5 per cent success rate at the face-off circle.

The team currently has 13 players under contract for the coming season, including forwards Marie-Philip Poulin, Laura Stacey, Lina Ljungblom, Abby Roque, Catherine Dubois and Kaitlin Willoughby; defenders Maggie Flaherty, Kati Tabin, Jessica DiGirolamo and Nadia Mattivi; and goalkeeper Ann-Renée Desbiens.
