Carter Hart returns to NHL for first time following Hockey Canada sexual assault case

Goalie Carter Hart made his return to the NHL last night, his first game since he was acquitted of sexual assault in London this summer.

Hart signed a two-year contract with the Vegas Golden Knights back in October.

He led them to a shootout win last night over the Chicago Blackhawks.

Hart was suspended indefinitely when he and four of his world junior teammates were charged with sexual assault nearly two years ago.

“Ah, it’s just so good to be back. These guys here are awesome. Umm, just grateful for the opportunity here. Huge win tonight. Just feels so good. It’s hard to put into words,” said Hart.

Hart remains the only one of the acquitted players to sign an NHL contract since their suspensions were lifted.
