Two people arrested in Brantford motel parking lot after attempting to boost stolen vehicle

Two people from Brantford are facing charges after police said they were spotted trying to boost a stolen vehicle in a motel parking lot.

The Brantford Police Service’s K9 unit was patrolling in the Colborne Street area when they saw the pair near a vehicle that had been reported stolen from a neighbouring jurisdiction.

The duo was arrested and police seized 10.5 grams of suspected cocaine and 17.5 grams of suspected fentanyl.

A 26-year-old Brantford man was charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking and two counts of breaching probation.

A 39-year-old woman was charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000.
