The Kitchener Rangers are one win away from advancing after a 4-3 victory over the Soo Greyhounds on Tuesday night, taking a commanding 3-0 lead in their Ontario Hockey League playoff series. Dylan Edwards scored a hat trick, including the game-winning goal with just over six minutes remaining in regulation, marking back-to-back playoff games with three goals for the Rangers forward. Kitchener opened the scoring for the third straight game in the series when Haeden Ellis finished a setup from defenceman Alexander Bilecki. The Greyhounds responded minutes later, with Quinn McKenzie tying the game 1-1 before the end of the first period. Edwards restored the Rangers’ lead in the second period with his first goal of the night, making it 2-1 after 40 minutes. The third period saw multiple lead changes. Brady Martin tied the game for Soo, but Edwards scored his second of the night on the power play to give Kitchener a 3-2 advantage. The Greyhounds answered again with a power play goal to even the score at 3-3. Less than a minute later, Edwards completed his hat trick when a centering attempt deflected off a defender and into the net. Kitchener held on through the final minutes to secure the win. The Rangers will look to complete the series sweep in Game 4 on Thursday night at GFL Memorial Gardens. Puck drop is set for 7:07 p.m.
