Provincial police say a Wasaga Beach resident is now facing serious charges thanks to the joint efforts of police. According to OPP, the Child Sexual Exploitation Unit collaborated with Peel Regional Police’s 31 Division in an investigation that led them to the home of a Wasaga Beach resident. On June 23, police executed a warrant at the home and seized a number of electronic devices. On Thursday, police announced a 33-year-old has been charged with making, accessing and possessing child sexual abuse and exploitation material. The charges date back to Sept. 12, police say. The accused has additionally been charged with voyeurism. They are due back in court later this month.
