Waterloo Regional Police are warning residents to secure their vehicles and remove valuables after a series of theft from vehicles in employee parking lot across the region. Police said they received multiple reports Aug. 13 involving vehicles that had been entered in busy employee parking lots. During the investigation, officers learned that wallets and other valuables were taken. Police said the theft of identification and financial cards can also expose victims to further fraud and identity-related offences. The incidents are part of a larger multi-jurisdictional investigation involving police services across Ontario. Since July, investigators have identified nearly 30 victims connected to similar thefts. Police are reminding the public of the following: The investigation is ongoing.
