Last month, CTV News Edmonton looked at some of the most expensive homes for sale in Sturgeon County. Four of those listings are still active. Inevitably, we return from whence we came, back to Edmonton to see more real estate offerings. But first, the somewhat less magical, but arguably more practical, data. In August, real estate sales in the greater Edmonton area dropped by 15.4 per cent compared to July, a total of 2,143. This was also 9.8 per cent lower than August 2025, according to the Realtors Association of Edmonton (RAE). There were 3,769 new listings, 8.1 per cent lower than July, but 3.3 per cent higher than last year. The average price also fell by 1.1 per cent to 469,602 compared to July, though that is 1.8 higher than last August. The only stat to rise in both comparisons is the average days a home spent on market, up two days from July and up four from August 2025. “A slow-down in activity has continued as autumn approaches, reflecting normal seasonal trends,” said Darlene Reid, RAE board chair. “There are also indicators that a shift in the wider market is taking place.” “Average prices are not showing significant changes from the previous year, indicating steadiness; meanwhile, inventory is continuing to accrue in our market,” she added. “Supply is ample, but unless demand keeps up, we are likely to see downward pressure on prices beyond the usual seasonal patterns.” At the beginning of the month, the Bank of Canada held the key interest rate again, but there is speculation there could be a rate hike before the end of the year. Now, here’s a look at some of the most expensive homes for sale in Edmonton in September 2026. 5 - $2.9M home in Hays Ridge Area Starting in southwest Edmonton is this 4,835-square-foot, two-storey home in the Hays Ridge Area neighbourhood. The home backs onto part of the Jagare Ridge Golf Course, with a covered patio and balconies on the main and second floor looking out onto the course.
