Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating the death of a 43-year-old Cambridge man found deceased inside a vehicle in Puslinch Township as a homicide. Wellington County OPP officers were called to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Wellington Road 32 at about 7:30 a.m. on Sept. 21. Police found one person deceased inside the vehicle. The deceased has been identified as Trumaine Kyte, 43, of Cambridge. Investigators said they believe the incident was isolated and there is no indication of a broader threat. The Wellington County OPP Crime Unit is investigating under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, with assistance from the Office of the Chief Coroner, Ontario Forensic Pathology Service and OPP Forensic Identification Services. “Investigations like this are complex and involving a lot of variables,” Const. Matthew Burton told CTV News Sunday. “And we believe that a lot of people together can be able to help [us] understand what occurred that night, or in the early morning. And we’re really seeking answers for the family of Trumaine... [we’re] remaining committed... to hold those responsible that were involved in this.” Police are asking residents and anyone who was in the area of Wellington Road 32 between 9 p.m. Sept. 20 and 7:30 a.m. Sept. 21 to review surveillance or dashcam footage for any suspicious vehicles or activity. “This event is a tragic occurrence.
