Four people have been taken to hospital after an Edmonton Police Service (EPS) vehicle was involved in a crash north of downtown Thursday afternoon. Police closed the intersection of 118 Avenue and 97 Street in all directions starting in the mid-afternoon. Traffic in both directions was restored by 5:30 p.m. According to EPS, the police car was travelling with its lights and sirens on at 2 p.m. when it collided with another car. Two officers, a passenger in the cop car and the driver of the civilian car were all taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police say the investigation is ongoing.
