Two people were killed in a plane crash Saturday morning in Kananaskis Country. Golfers in the area noticed the plane appeared to be in trouble around 9:20 a.m. and called for help. RCMP said in a media release that they got a call about a crash in the Mount McDougall area around 9 a.m. Two people who were on the plane died at the scene. Sunday, the RCMP said they have not yet recovered the bodies. The investigation will be led by the Transportation Safety Board of Canada. In a Sunday email to CTV News Calgary, a TSB spokesperson provided the following update. “The aircraft was a Cirrus SR22. It departed 5 Sept 2026 on an instrument flight from Springbank, AB, to Campbell River, BC. “The aircraft departed just after 8:50am MT and impacted terrain approximately 30 nm WSW of the airport at approximately 09:15 MT. “We are currently coordinating with local authorities. Weather and location are inhibiting our ability to reach the site.”
