A fire involving a large stack of pallets outside a retail store in Saskatoon caused minor smoke damage to the building Saturday evening. The Saskatoon Fire Department says crews were called to the 300 block of Confederation Drive at about 7:48 p.m. after reports of pallets on fire next to a large retail store. Firefighters arrived to find a large pile of wooden and plastic pallets burning against an exterior wall of the building. SFD says crews brought the fire under control within 10 minutes of being dispatched. The fire was fully extinguished, and no injuries were reported among civilians or firefighters. According to SFD, the interior of the store sustained light smoke damage. A fire investigator is examining the scene to determine the cause and origin of the fire, as well as the extent of the damage.
