Autopsy pending further investigation in 1st suspicious death of 2026

Police say an autopsy is pending further investigation following a suspicious death in north Edmonton, the first of 2026.

Officers responded to a welfare call on Jan. 16 around 9:30 a.m. in the area of 88 Street and 128 Avenue where they found a dead 51-year-old man.

Three days later, the Edmonton medical examiner completed the autopsy. The cause of death is pending toxicology, and the manner of death is pending investigation.
