Tornado Warning issued for Airdrie and Crossfield ends

Environment Canada has ended its Tornado Warning for areas north of Calgary

As of 6:12 p.m., Tornado Warnings were in effect for:

According to Environment Canada, the severe thunderstorm was situated approximately 10 kilometres north of Crossfield and was moving east at a speed of approximately 20 km/h.

A Tornado Watch had been issued for the Drumheller-Three Hills region. In addition to the tornado, the storm is capable of producing tennis ball sized hail.

Anyone who encounters a funnel cloud or hears the roaring sound of the storm, should take shelter immediately.

As of 6:38 p.m., CTV Calgary meteorologist David Spence says there have been no reported tornado touchdowns in the area.
