South Simcoe Police say they arrested three suspects and recovered two allegedly stolen bikes in a span of just two hours. Here’s how police say it went down: On Thursday morning, police received a call that a bike had been stolen early in the morning. On the same day, officers received another report that a bike had been was spotted in the Holland Street West area in Bradford West Gwillimbury. This bike, police say, matched the description of a bike reported stolen earlier in the week. Around 3:40 p.m., patrolling officers stopped a man on a bike that matched the description of the bike allegedly stolen earlier that morning. Police charged a 53-year-old Brampton man with theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime. During that arrest, police say a second man rode by on a bike, matching the description of the bike stolen earlier in the week. The man, a 55-year-old of no fixed address, was also stopped and arrested by police and now faces similar charges. Around 5 p.m. on the same day, also along Holland Street, officers were during a bike rodeo event for children, teaching them about bike safety. In the same area, police say a man was spotted by officers riding a bike, with a large duffle bag over his shoulder. He was by South Simcoe Police, as someone who was wanted on outstanding arrest warrants by both York Regional Police and North Bay Police. A 58-year-old Bradford man was arrested on the basis of those charges, police say. According to police, the two bikes have been returned to their owners.
