Police arrest Moncton, N.B., man wanted on Canada-wide warrant

A 38-year-old man from Moncton, N.B., wanted on a Canada-wide warrant has been arrested.

Codiac RCMP arrested Joshua Belliveau on Friday, according to a news release from the Saint John Police Force.

Police say they were initially notified of Belliveau’s arrest warrant on July 22, after he violated the conditions of his statutory release and his whereabouts were unknown.

Belliveau is serving his second federal sentence of two years, 11 months and one day for:

• possession of a prohibited/restricted firearm with ammunition
• possession of a weapon contrary to a prohibition order
• unauthorized possession of a firearm/prohibited or restricted weapon in a motor vehicle
• carrying a concealed weapon
• resisting/obstruction of a peace officer
• dangerous operation conveyance
• unlawfully in dwelling house
• flight from peace officer
• escape or being at large without excuse
