Man killed following hit-and-run with stolen moving van: Winnipeg police

A 49-year-old man is dead after he was hit by a stolen moving van Saturday morning.

According to Winnipeg police, officers responded to a report of a hit-and-run in the 300 block of Redwood Avenue at 7:10 a.m.

When they arrived, they found a 49-year-old man suffering from injuries, and he was taken to hospital in stable condition. The man later died from his injuries.

He has been identified as Kurt Fabian Paupanekis of Winnipeg.

Officers found a stolen rental moving van they said was involved in the incident in the rear lane near the location of the hit-and-run. Occupants of the van had ran from the area before emergency crews arrived.
