The senior who was struck during a terrifying vehicle-ramming incident in Vancouver’s West End neighbourhood earlier this month has died. Police shared the tragic update Wednesday, nearly two weeks after the senior was struck by a Jeep in the early morning hours of May 15. The victim—whose name has not been released—succumbed to their injuries in hospital on Sunday, the Vancouver Police Department said. “Police have notified Crown counsel and are in the process of submitting evidence for consideration of additional charges,” the department said in a news release. Tadd Myron Bali, 34, has already been charged with four counts of dangerous driving causing bodily harm in connection with the incident. Authorities previously said the Jeep was driven onto the sidewalk along Comox Street, striking several trees and vehicles before crashing into a senior on a mobility scooter. The incident ended with the Jeep colliding with a police cruiser, which left the suspect vehicle suspended on its side on the roadway. Two officers were inside the cruiser—including a recruit who was on his second day on the job—and were both injured, according to police. Authorities have not shared the extent of the officers’ injuries, but said they were released from hospital the same day.
