Three suspects have been arrested after a 51-year-old man was shot and killed in broad daylight at a carwash in Montreal’s Saint-Leonard borough in the spring of 2022. Patrick Robert, 52, Michel Duci, 56, and André Carrier, 58, were arrested in Terrebonne, Mascouche and L’Épiphanie. “Currently in custody, the three men in their 50s will appear via videoconference [Wednesday] afternoon and will all be charged with first-degree murder,” said Montreal police (SPVM), adding the homicide may be linked to organized crime. “Searches were conducted inside residences connected to the suspects,” said police. This comes after the victim was gunned down on April 12, 2022, at 10:40 a.m. while waiting in his vehicle at the entrance to a car wash on Métropolitain Boulevard. “Suspects quickly fled the scene in a getaway vehicle,” said police. “The victim was transported to the hospital in critical condition and died shortly after. The getaway vehicle was eventually found burned in the same area.” The killing was the sixth homicide of 2022 on the Island of Montreal. Rewards of up to $5,000 may be offered for information leading to the arrest of a suspect.
