Body found in Red River, First Nations police investigating

The Manitoba First Nations Police Service (MFNPS) is asking for the public’s help after human remains were pulled from the Red River last month.

According to a news release, MFNPS was called after the remains were found in the river east of Roseau River First Nation on May 14.

The remains have been identified as Reuban Gabriel Atkinson of Roseau River First Nation, which is located approximately 80 kilometres south of Winnipeg.

The MFNPS is investigating the circumstances surrounding Atkinson’s death.
