A driver is in critical condition in the hospital after crashing into another vehicle and hitting an apartment building on Friday night in Anjou. Montreal police (SPVM) said that 911 calls at 6 p.m. prompted officers to the corner of Châteauneuf Boulevard and Baldwin Street. “It appears that the driver of the car, a 64 year old man, was travelling on Châteauneuf Boulevard when for unknown reasons, he changed lanes and collided with another vehicle,” said SPVM spokesperson Manuel Couture. After colliding with the other car, the driver crashed into an apartment building. The man sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. The 40-year-old woman driving the other vehicle was also taken to the hospital. Her injuries are not considered life-threatening. A collision investigator has been requested to piece together the moments leading up to the crash.
