Bear cub spotted roaming East Vancouver, police say

Conservation officers are responding to reports of a bear cub roaming in East Vancouver.

Police said the bear was first spotted near Wellington Avenue and Rupert Street, but that it was later sighted blocks away in the area of Vaness Avenue and Ormidale Street, near Boundary Road.

The Vancouver Police Department asked anyone who spots the cub to call 911.

“If you see the bear, do not approach,” the department said on social media.
