Two suspects charged related to murder of missing 37-year-old man: WPS

Charges have been laid in connection with the missing person investigation of David Pavao. CTV Windsor’s Michelle Maluske has the update.

Windsor police say they have charged two suspects related to the murder of a man who went missing two months ago.

The Windsor Police Major Crimes Unit launched an investigation after receiving a missing person report for 37-year-old David Pavao, who was last seen in the early morning hours of Aug. 14, 2025.

Police say in the following weeks, investigators conducted a thorough investigation, including interviewing witnesses and carrying out multiple searches across Windsor and Essex County.

“While Pavao’s remains have not yet been recovered, investigators concluded that he was killed on or around August 14,” said a news release from Windsor police.

Shortly before 5 p.m. on Oct. 15, officers found and arrested two suspects at a residence in the 1000 block of Felix Avenue.

Shane Ladouceur, 54, has been charged with first-degree murder.

Marie Christine Hannah, 49, has been charged with being an accessory after the fact to murder and indecent interference with a deceased body.

The Windsor Police Service confirmed with CTV News that this is connected to the investigation in the same block that took place on Thursday morning.
