OPP seize $75K in stolen goods, drugs; 2 Belle River men face multiple charges

Two men are facing charges after police seized about $75,000 worth of stolen property and drugs.

Ontario Provincial Police say officers executed search warrants at a home on Puce Road in Lakeshore at about 10 a.m. May 13.

The searches were carried out by the Essex County and Lambton County OPP Community Street Crime Unit, the OPP Emergency Response Team, Windsor police’s Target Base Unit and a canine unit.

Police say the seizure included motorcycles, a vehicle and suspected drugs, with a combined value exceeding $75,000.

Two suspects were arrested without incident.

A 44-year-old Belle River man is charged with seven offences, including four counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, two counts over $5,000, and altering, destroying or removing a vehicle identification number.

A 41-year-old Belle River man faces 15 charges, including six counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order, four counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, one count under $5,000, altering, destroying or removing a vehicle identification number, possession of cocaine, possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, and failing to comply with a probation order.

Both accused were held for a bail hearing in Windsor.
