Officials are looking into the cause of a fire that tore through a Kitchener home early Friday morning. Firefighters were called to Wilfred Avenue around 12:16 a.m. to find flames and thick smoke coming from the building. Once the fire was under control, crews searched the house which was undergoing renovations and currently unoccupied. Officials said no one has been displaced. They also described the damage to the home as extensive. “Kitchener Fire’s investigation team will attend later this morning to begin determining the cause of the fire,” the city said in a media release.
