A motorcyclist was taken to hospital with critical injuries after a collision on Highway 7/8 in Kitchener. The Ontario Provincial Police said a 28-year-old from Brampton was driving a sportsbike in the eastbound lanes of the highway near Courtland Avenue around 5 p.m. Thursday when they collided with the back of a Mercedes SUV. The motorcyclist was taken to hospital, while the driver of the SUV was unharmed. OPP closed the eastbound lanes for several hours and traffic was diverted off the highway at Homer Watson Boulevard. No updates have been shared about the condition of the motorcyclist or any possible charges related to the crash.
