Delays expected for Windsor yard waste pickup

Windsor residents can expect some delays in yard waste pickup in some parts of the city.

The areas impacted include 1B, 2B, 3B and 4B collection zones, but the officials say pickup will still take place this week.

The most delays are expected in Ward 10 and some of Ward 1, generally from Huron Church Road to Dougall Avenue, from Cleary Street to Grand Marais Road as well as Huron Church Road to McKay Avenue and from West Grand Blvd to Cabana Road.

The delay is caused in part by mechanical difficulties with some of the GFL fleet’s trucks, as well as a high volume of leaves and clippings.

Residents are encouraged to follow their regular pick-up schedule and be aware that the material may not be picked up until the following day, which could include Saturday this week.

City officials expect to be back on schedule by the end of the weekend and thanks residents for their patience.
