Bracing for a gusty mix of sun, snow, and rain heading into the weekend

Windsor-Essex residents can expect rapidly changing skies over the next several days as shifting weather systems bring sunshine, flurries, rain, and strong winds to southern Ontario.

Thursday starts on a sunny note, though the brisk northwest wind gusting up to 50 km/h will keep the early morning feeling chilly, with a wind chill of –9 to start the day, the high of 5 C may feel misleadingly mild.

By noon, clouds will move in, creating a mix of sun and cloud.

Skies will stay clear through the evening before shifting to partly cloudy conditions overnight. There’s a 40 percent chance of flurries as temperatures dip to –2 C.

Friday is expected to be the most dynamic day of the week, with periods of snow are expected to end in the morning, giving way to cloudy skies and a 60 per cent chance of either rain showers or flurries late morning and into the afternoon.

Wind south 30 km/h gusting to 50 increasing to 50 gusting to 70 in the morning then becoming west 40 gusting to 70 in the afternoon. High 6. Wind chill minus 10 in the morning.

Saturday: A mix of sun and cloud. High plus 2.

Sunday: Periods of snow or rain. High plus 4.

Monday: Cloudy with 60 per cent chance of flurries or rain showers. Windy. High zero.
