Investigators with Saskatoon’s Guns and Gangs Unit are searching for leads after police say two homes in the same area were shot at over the weekend. The first incident occurred Saturday morning, just before 7 a.m. in the Avalon neighbourhood, according to a Saskatoon police news release. Officers were called to a home on the 2500 block of Melrose Avenue where an unknown man reportedly fired a gun at the front of the home before getting into a black car. Police say a second vehicle, a minivan, was seen pulling up to the scene before both vehicles sped away. The second shooting happened early Monday morning on the 100 block of Gladmer Crescent. The homeowner called police to the scene around 2 a.m. reporting people were trying to break in. Officers reported several bullets had been fired at the home and the front door had been broken down. No one was injured in either incident, which police believe are unrelated. Police are asking anyone with information about these incidents to call the non-emergency line or to submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
