No charges have been laid following an investigation involving a worker at a daycare in Fort McMurray. RCMP said they were informed of an indecent exposure on May 16. A man was arrested but charges were later stayed by the Crown. “If the matter has a reasonable likelihood of conviction and is in the public interest, a prosecution may be recommended,” said a statement from the Alberta Crown Prosecution Service (ACPS). “As ACPS advice to law enforcement is confidential, we cannot provide additional specific information about this matter.” In a statement to CTV News Edmonton, the RCMP said: “Following a review of all allegations reported by the complainant, charges have not been approved. The investigation completed by Wood Buffalo RCMP is now concluded.” Childcare licensing said it completed its investigation into the daycare and found no evidence that the daycare did not follow provincial childcare standards in its handling of the incident. “The staff member named in the investigation has not had access to children at the program since April 30,” said a statement from the ministry of education and childcare.
