Suspect in custody after active investigation on McEwan Avenue

An armed suspect has been arrested after an active investigation in Windsor Thursday.

Windsor police say a suspect is in custody after a standoff on McEwan Avenue.

There was a heavy police presence in the 300 block of McEwan Avenue on Thursday morning as officers conduct an active investigation related to a man with a butcher knife.

The suspect was described as an East Indian male wearing a black hoodie, black pants, and black shoes.

He was contained inside the residence, but around 1 p.m., police posted on social media that he was in custody.

Officers say there is no ongoing risk to public safety.
