An investigation is underway into a collision that left one person dead in the northeast. Police responded just after 1:30 p.m. to the Centre Street between 19 Avenue and 21 Avenue N.E. where they believe a motorist driving north hit a cyclist riding in the same direction. After the vehicle hit the cyclist, it hit a parked car before coming to rest in the intersection at 21 Avenue. The cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle is receiving medical treatment. An EMS spokesperson confirmed the double collisions, saying the driver was transported to hospital in critical and life-threatening condition. A second adult was also transported to hospital in stable and non-life threatening condition. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 403-266-1234.
