Most construction projects in the city aren’t deterred by ongoing rain, meaning Edmontonians can expect new traffic disruptions in the coming weeks. Construction schedules are subject to change and will be reflected on the City of Edmonton website. Starting Monday, the 95 Avenue Renewal project will close one lane on 170 Street northbound approaching the 95 Avenue intersection for about a month. An extra lane closure may also be in place overnight and during off-peak periods for utility connections. On Thursday, 132 Avenue will close from 90 Street to Delwood Road, weather permitting, until the end of August. The 82 Street intersection will stay open for north and south traffic. Judy Padua Way will be fully closed from Monday to Wednesday, but motorists will still be able to access the parkade and 99 Street access is available from Jasper Avenue. Dawson Bridge will be completely closed to traffic for bridge barrier replacement this every weekend until June 29. The bridge will be reduced to a single lane on weekdays starting Monday. Sections of Stony Plain Road between 124 Street and 138 Street will be down to a single shared lane during off-peak hours until the fall for continued work on the Valley Line West LRT. On Wednesday, access points to the Kiss and Ride entrance on Heritage Valley Trail will periodically close until the end of 2026. Closures will alternate as construction work on the Capital Line South LRT extension continues. At-grade track rehabilitation will be ongoing at the 51 Avenue and 111 Street intersection from Wednesday night until June 29. The 24/7 work will reduce 111 Street to a single lane in both directions with no left turns at the intersection. Westbound 51 Avenue will also be closed between 110 Street and 111 Street. During that time, there won’t be any access to or from the Southgate Mall. Drivers are asked to use Whitemud Drive or 61 Avenue.
