Witnesses, video sought after hit-and-run injures 2 pedestrians in Abbotsford, police say

Police in Abbotsford are asking witnesses to come forward after a hit-and-run left two pedestrians injured.

Officers were called to reports of a collision at the intersection of Ross Road and Simpson Road just after 7 p.m. on Wednesday.

When emergency crews arrived on scene, two pedestrians were found injured after being struck by a red or maroon-coloured Mazda sedan, police said.

The suspect vehicle then fled the area westbound on Simpson Road.

Both pedestrians were taken to hospital, one with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

“The investigation remains in its early stages,” police said in a news release Friday. “Investigators are looking to speak with the driver of a Tesla observed in the area at the time of the collision. It is believed that driver may have witnessed the incident, or that their vehicle may have captured video footage that is crucial to the investigation.”
