Police in Sault Ste. Marie charged a 37-year-old woman with 17 counts of theft related to incidents between February and May. She turned herself in May 21, police said in a news release May 22. “Investigations revealed that on 17 different occasions between Feb. 13 … and May 6 … the accused stole property from seven different businesses,” police said. “The total value of property stolen was more than $3,900.” Charges include 17 counts of theft, failing to attend court and failing to show up to be fingerprinted. “The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing,” police said.
