Suspect sought after teen assaulted in Surrey, police say

Police in Surrey have released a photo of a suspect allegedly involved in an assault on a teenage girl last week.

In a news release Wednesday, the Surrey Police Service said the incident unfolded as the victim was walking eastbound on 100 Avenue near 123A Street at approximately 4:35 p.m. on Friday.

“A man approached her from behind and wrapped his arms around her upper body,” police said in the release. “The victim managed to break free, and the suspect fled southbound on 123A Street.”

Police added that the victim wasn’t injured in the assault.

The suspect is described as a white or Middle Eastern man, who is approximately 5’10” tall, police said.

He was last seen wearing black sweatpants, black and white shoes, a black hooded sweatshirt and a grey plaid or checkered jacket.
