A man was taken to hospital with serious injuries after a crash between a passenger vehicle and a five-tonne commercial truck near the boundary between Surrey and Langley Saturday morning, according to police. First responders were called to the collision site at the intersection of Highway 10 and 192 Street around 10:35 a.m., the Surrey Police Service said. Firefighters used the Jaws of Life to extract the driver and sole occupant of the car, and he was hospitalized with “reportedly serious but not life-threatening injuries.” The driver of the commercial vehicle was unhurt and remained at the scene, police added. Police said to expect lane closures on Highway 10 at 192 Street into the afternoon as investigators examine the crash scene. The cause of the collision is yet to be determined and the SPS asked anyone who witnessed it or has dash-cam video to call 604-599-0502.
