Police investigating speed, impairment after 2 critically injured in Surrey, B.C., crash

Three people were sent to hospital, including two in critical condition, following a multi-vehicle collision.

Paramedics transported three people to hospital, including two in critical condition, following a multi-vehicle collision Thursday in Surrey, B.C.

First responders were called to the scene near the intersection of 32 Avenue and 194 Street at 5:20 p.m. after a transport truck and two passenger vehicles collided.

Police say the driver of the truck was not injured, and the cause of the crash is still under investigation.

Nobody is in police custody following the crash, Sgt. Tige Pollock said Friday, though investigators believe speed and impairment may have contributed to the collision.

The area was closed to traffic for much of the evening as investigators collected evidence from the scene.
