Man wanted on Canada-wide warrant may be in Kamloops, Abbotsford

Mounties are warning the public about a man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant who may be in Kamloops or Abbotsford.

In a news release Monday, Kamloops RCMP said 38-year-old Kurtis Justin Billy allegedly failed to comply with his curfew and is unlawfully at large.

Police added that Billy is believed to be in the Kamloops area, but he could also be travelling back and forth to Abbotsford or other locations.

“If anyone sees Kurtis Billy or has information related to his whereabouts, please do not approach, but instead contact your nearest police detachment as soon as possible,” Cpl. Dana Napier said in the release.

Billy is described as Indigenous, 5’7” tall and approximately 161 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes, police said.

A man named Kurtis Justin Billy is the subject of more than seven dozen entries in B.C.’s Court Services Online system, with offences ranging from dangerous driving and possession of stolen property to assaulting a peace officer and uttering threats.
