Provincial police say they have found the body of the boater who fell overboard near Sandy Bay on Canada Day. Bracebridge OPP and the OPP marine unit were called to the area of Sandy Bay near Bowyers Beach on Lake Muskoka around 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday. A couple were out on the water in their boat when they were faced with extreme weather. A 67-year-old man fell overboard and did not resurface, according to police. Police say residents of the area responded to a distress call put out by the other occupant on the boat and attended the area in their own vessels, but were unable to locate the man. Around noon on Thursday, OPP say they found the 67-year-old’s body.
