The City of Calgary says crews repaired a sinkhole that could have caused a big delay in traffic heading into the core for Stampede parade day. Officials say the issue was discovered in the eastbound lanes of Bow Trail between 24 Street and Crowchild Trail S.W. on Thursday afternoon. Initially, the city said two right lanes of Bow Trail were closed and repairs were expected to take several days, so detours were to be expected. But, in an update at 6:30 a.m. Friday, the city said crews completed the repairs overnight, that allowing all lanes to reopen. The city says the cause of the sinkhole is under investigation and more repairs may be needed later.
