Work has now begun for a new accessible playground at Windsor’s Optimist Memorial Park. The project will see: The work will continue through mid-August, weather permitting. While construction takes place, the playground area will be closed. Residents are asked to stay away from the area. Windsor says this is part of its Playground Replacement Program, where it will replace existing equipment to create a more inclusive, accessible, and engaging space. In total, the city has set aside $16.3 million in investments to replace 35 playgrounds across the city. It will also create a new “super playground” at Lanspeary Park.
