Driver dead after 2-vehicle crash in Maple Ridge: RCMP

Fatal crash closes Lougheed Highway One person is dead and another was airlifted to hospital in critical condition after a crash in Maple Ridge Tuesday morning.

Mounties in Maple Ridge say one person is dead and two others are injured following a two-vehicle collision on the Lougheed Highway Tuesday morning.

According to the RCMP, a westbound Infiniti sedan and a Dodge Ram pickup truck collided in the 27200 block of Lougheed, just east of River Road.

Police said the Infiniti Driver was killed. The passenger in the Infiniti and the pickup truck driver were taken to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities said they expected traffic on the Lougheed to remain closed in both directions for several hours.
